Why are there more Marvel movies lately than DC movies? if you know any DC movies coming soon let me know?
I dont know of the DC comics movies coming soon but I see a lot of Marvel comics movies out there,
Like the latest Spiderman 3, Fantastic Four: Rise of Silver surfer
also Iron man, Punisher 2, the incredible Hulk ( the follow up to 2003's Hulk) and Thor are in production
movies set to be released by 2009 are Magneto, Spiderman 4
there are also plans to make a movie about wolverine
Marvel has a lot of movies out there does anyone know of DC comics movies coming soon?
If not, why arent DC comics making more movies based on their other characters ( not just Batman and Superman)?
First of all, it is in part due to DC only relying on production company (WB). Another reason is that they are having trouble finding the right stories. Wonder Woman is a difficult franchise to connect without totally crapping on the comics. DC also has a lot of legacy heroes like the Flash. The Flash movie was brought up with Goyer after Blade Trinity and on every message it was an argument of which Flash they should use. There also heroes with different people filling the same role like Green Lantern. Which Green Lantern do you use? Hal Jordan, Kyle Rayner, Guy Gardner? Or hell do you maybe even use Alan Scott?
Marvel has licensed out to different companies so movies can come out faster. They also are able to have less interconnectivity than what would be expected of DC. What does that mean? Warner Brother and DC are in talks about doing a Justice League movie, but we will most likely never see an Avengers movie until Marvel Entertainment gets the rights back for the Hulk since he's with Universal and ME seems to be working with Paramount now.
DC however HAS exhibited much more success in television with the exception of the Spider-man and X-Men animated series, as well as the Hulk live action TV show. Most of DC's TV series have been pretty well recieved including the live-action Flash series, Superfriends, Superman: TAS, Batman: TAS, Justice League, JLU, Teen Titans, and more. While Marvel has had their share of cartoons ranging from the Hulk to the Avengers, none were recieved quite as well.
Also keep an eye out for DC to be pushing more movies. Wonder Woman, the Flash, and Captain Marvel are in the works. There is also a movie called Super Max that was pitched to both DC and Marvel, and DC picked up with Green Arrow entering the lead role.
