I feel sad, but as soon as he was outed, he was going to be the sacrificial lamb for the media bloodbath we've seen.

There will be self-righteous indignation from men who believe that women are inferior and need to be protected from the consequences of their actions, they will be baying for blood from women who don't want to be held accountable for their actions, there will be public hang wringing from club CEOs and NRL officials. There will be the media making more mileage out of a story they've blown out of proportion. They will be a broken man, with a broken marriage, a broken family and a broken career. They will be a shameless woman, counting her bags of money, crowing over her revenge and laughing at an easily manipulated public.

But there won't be an independant tribunal set up to deal consistently with all of field dramas involving NRL players. There won't be any repercussions for the media, for publicly destroying a man who legally doesn't have a case to answer. There won't be any change in the double standard where men are held responsible for a woman's moral safety, rather than women taking any responsibility for their own.
