Whatever happened to Rob Liefeld?

Seems like this guy who was once one of the hottest artists in comic book fandom just dropped off the face of the earth.

He recently illustrated a few issues of DC's Teen Titans. IMO, I think his art work sucks. He reuses many of the same poses, all his action sequences are the same, he places too much muscle depth where it shouldn't be, and for some reason everytime he illustrates a character jumping through the air, one leg is bent in while the other protrudes straight.

Why is Rob Liefeld still getting jobs?

Many of the projects he's done never complete or die withing a few issues. Cable had critical acclaim and was interesting before he wanted back in. Art talent issues aside, many of his former editors say he's also difficult and is lacking a sense of storytelling. So why do you think he's still working?

for some strange reason, and i can't figure it out myself, the guy actually has a following...why? i don't know...how is it that they remain blinded to just how awful his work actually is? your guess is as good as mine...

what i do know is, he brought the excellent Geoff Johns run on Teen Titans to a grinding halt...he remains the ONLY artist working in the biz that can manage to make a writer like Gail Simone look like a hack, his composition and style make no sense whatsoever, and yet there are droves of people pulling for the guy...

i was through with him ever since he drew the "Spike Man" sketch on those old Spike Lee directed Levi's commercials...

Website designers STAR XYX received some amazing feedback recently from an actor they had designed a website for.

The actor, Rob O'Shea, had only had his website for a couple of months when he was contacted by Darlow Smithson, the production company behind the award winning film, Touching The Void.

Darlow Smithson offered Rob a chance to be involved in a re-enactment of the 1972 Munich Olympic massacre, which was to be shown on the National Geographic Channel.

For that job he was trained by ex SAS soldiers to fire assault rifles and sub machine guns in the principal role of terrorist.

Rob O'Shea listed the Darlow Smithson filming on his website and never thought any more of it. Some months later he was contacted via his website by an airline security firm who had seen his training and experience.

What followed was further military training by the airline security firm and Rob O'Shea is now flown all around the world by Major Airlines to act in training courses that involve simulated hostage taking and aircraft hijackings. Often this leads to Rob having to improvise a role for 10 - 24 hours.

Airline training courses and simulations have become more realistic and intense since the events of 911 and this has also led to airline security changing a great deal.

The most visible security changes may be on the airplanes themselves. Many planes have installed bulletproof, locked cockpit doors, securing the pilot and flight crew from the rest of the plane. There have also been attempts to install CCTV systems as a cabin monitoring system.

Said Rob : 'It's an amazing job as I am flown out to these Countries first class and put up in five star hotels ... I meet on the exercises high ranking members of the Governement, airline security, sky marshalls, military ... it's not often you get a job like this come along ! '
