Please meet Mr. Sam Stone, a Mechanic from Texas. Most of us intimately call him Dr. Sam. He has been a mechanic for the last 17 years. Sam is truly an expert in his own field. Here are ome tips that if used properly will help you to save thousands of dollars on gasoline every year.

1. Clean Dirty Air Filters. Today's cars are controlled by complicated ignition systems, on board computers and other gadgets that the average car owner will find hard to comprehend. Dirty air filters can cause your engine to run at less than peak efficiency, resulting in fuel wastage. Have your filters cleaned regularly especially if you visit dusty areas often.

2. Tune up Your Engine. If you drive a car that is more than two years old, have your engine tune up by a good car technician. An engine that is running perfectly will help start your car easily and run smoothly. Make sure that the idling speeds are right and the engine is in top shape. This will result in better fuel economy.

3. Spend a few bucks and convert your car to run on water and gas. There is a number of gas/fuel saving devices that you could install on your car or truck engine. The simple step of finding out the schedule your vehicle belongs to and adhering to it will save you hundreds of dollars. A good place to start is checking your owner's manual for your vehicle's proper interval and rotation sequence.
