New Superhero Movies?

With the craze for new superhero movies what's next

Personally I'm hoping for something about Nick Fury, Luke Cage, The Flash (Wally West), Wonderwoman, Martian Manhunter, Possibly another hero from weapon X, Deadpool, Fantomex, Agent Zero, X-23? Deadpool would be awesome
Maybe they could get the hulk right this time

Like you, I would love to see a Flash movie. The others I wouldn't be so interested in, though. Although Martian Manhunter is one of my favorite characters, I don't think he could carry a movie by himself. If I were an investor, I certainly wouldn't invest in a movie with him as the central character; the only people who would see it are comic geeks like us. That said, I would love to see a Justice League movie in which he was featured prominently, although it would be hard to pull that off given the way the studios write contracts to control major characters like Superman & Batman. Nick Fury could maybe carry a low budget movie, but even if he could I woulnd't be terribly interested in it. I never liked comics featuring SHIELD. And I don't think any of the other characters you mentioned could bring in enough viewers.

I'd love to see a Green Lantern flick. And a movie about Wolverine's travels in Japan would be good too.

* Robert Downey, Jr. as Anthony "Tony" Stark / Iron Man: The leader of Stark Industries, creator and the movies eponymous superhero and protagonist.

* Gwyneth Paltrow as Virginia "Pepper" Potts: Stark's closest friend, maturing love interest, and commerce associate after Pepper replaced Obadiah Stane as CEO of Stark Industries.

* Don Cheadle as Lt. Colonel James "Rhodey" Rhodes / War Machine: Cheadle is replacing Terrence Howard from the primary movie. Howard said, "There was no reason, in fact the contracts that we record and sign aren't worth the paper that they're printed on, sometimes. Deals aren't kept, and good faith discussions aren't always held up." Entertainment Weekly acknowledged Favreau did not like working with Howard, often reshooting and cutting his scenes; Howard's publicist said he had a good time playing the part, while Marvel chose not to comment. As Favreau and Theroux chose to minimize the role, Marvel came to Howard to discuss lowering his salary - Howard was the first artist hired in Iron Man and got the leading salary of the cast. The magazine said they were uncertain whether Howard's representatives left the development first or if Marvel chose to stop negotiating. Theroux denied the portion of the statement stating "the role of War Machine was scaled back and then jacked up". Cheadle merely had a few hours totake the part andwere not aware which storyline Rhodes would undertake.He stated he is a comic book fan, but felt there are not enough black superheroes.

* Scarlett Johansson as Natasha Romanoff / Black Widow: An undercoveragent posturing as Stark's assistant. Johansson was cast after a schedulingdispute forced Emily Blunt to drop out of the part.

* Sam Rockwell as Justin Hammer: Rockwell was considered for the part of Tony Stark in the initial movie, and he accepted the part of Hammer before looking at the script. He had never heard of the character before he was contacted about the part, and was unaware Hammer is an old man in the comics, whereas in thefilm he will be considerably closer to Stark's age. He will perform as one of the film's prime antagonists, possibly the main one.

* Mickey Rourke as Ivan Vanko / Whiplash: This form of the character also includes elements of Crimson Dynamo from the comics. In the movie, he will be the son of Russian scientist Anton Vanko, who, in the comics, is the original Crimson Dynamo and creator of said armor. Downey offered Rourke the role during a roundtable conversation with David Ansen at the 2009 Golden Globes, and Rourke met with Favreau and Theroux to talk about his character's role. Rourke nearly dropped out of the role due to Marvel's initial salary offer of $250,000, so the studio chose to increase the deal. Rourke researched for the part by visiting Butyrka prison. He suggested half of the character's dialogue be in Russian. Whiplash will act as the primary antagonist of the film alongside Justin Hammer.

* Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury: Jackson initially had financial problems with Marvel and was unsure about reprising therole of Fury, until they reached a deal that would entail his appearance in nine films as the character.

* Jon Favreau as Happy Hogan: Tony Stark's bodyguard and chauffeur.

* John Slattery as Howard Stark: Tony's father.

Garry Shandling appears as a senator who wants Stark to give Iron Man's armor to the government. Paul Bettany will again voice Stark's computer, JARVIS. Clark Gregg will reprise his role as S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent Phil Coulson from the first film.[25] Kate Mara will appear as Bethany Cabe. Olivia Munn has also landed an unspecified role in the film. Stan Lee will appear as talk show host, Larry King.
