A year of movies is behind us. There were definitely some great movies that came out during the year. Some of these include the mind blowing Avatar, A Serious Man, Inglorious Bastards, Coraline, yet another 3D treat. The Hangover was also another enjoyable comedy that had many people buzzing for months.
When all is said and done, I still believe this was a generally letdown year for movies. There were more bad ones than good, and I thought an article naming some of the most disappointing movies of 2009 would be fun. Let's take a look at the ones that made my list.
1. Nine. This musical, starring the likes of Nicole Kidman, Daniel Day Lewis, and so many other Hollywood superstars, had huge expectations amongst critics and viewers alike. Many believed that it would be the next Chicago or Moulin Rouge, but this movie was anything but that. Nine was a disappointment of a movie, unfortunately.
2. Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. Moviegoers fell in love with the original version of this movie, as it became one of the top grossing films of all time. Megan Fox became a household name and the special effects of the movie were some of the best we'd ever seen. A thin story line made the new Transformers quite the disappointment.
3. Couples Retreat. People anxiously awaited the return of Vince Vaughn and Jon Favreau, a classic comedic duo that established itself with the cult classic Swingers. This movie fell flat on its face, and nearly everyone who saw it came out of the theater tremendously disappointed.
While she loves movies, Patricia also loves Victorian table lamps. Visit her bankers lamp blog to read about these.
