How's the Dark Tower Series by Stephen King?

What's your honest opinion about the Dark Tower Series by Stephen King? I want the good and the bad. I'm thinking about reading it, so please try not to have any spoilers.

The first four books are very good, in my opinion. The last three aren't terrible, but it seems like he wrote them for the simply for the sake of finishing the story before he goes blind.
The very first book, The Gunslinger is a bit slow getting going but good.
Drawing of the Three (Dark Tower 2) and Wastelands (Dark Tower 3) are my favorites. Exciting reads, great characters, good plot twists etc.
Wizard and Glass (Dark Tower 4) is very good. This is where it starts getting to seem a bit overboard though.
Alot of King's other books reference the worlds and going's on of the Dark Tower books.
All in all, very worth reading.
If you're not a big fan of Steven King's other works you may not like them- They are very "King-ish"

I won't go into the last three, I read them to see what happened, but didn't come away loving them like I did the first 4.
