The original 1993 4 issue mini-series was released in black and white. In 2001, Dark Horse rereleased it in a "remastered" version with fully colored pages (and each one includes 8 new pages of artwork). The colored version of the comics say "Sim Hell: Remastered" on the cover with different artwork from the originals.

It's true that older horse's structures seem in most cases to stiffen up.
