The Ghost Rider Comic Book is about a Paranormal Super Hero simply known as Ghost Rider. Marvel Comics published the Ghost Rider Comics. The Ghost Rider originally appeared in 1972 in the Marvel Spotlight number 5.

Writers Roy Thomas and Gary Friedrich, with Mike Ploog as Artist, created it. The original character for the series is Johnny Blaze who has been known to associate with The Champions, Midnight Sons, Fantastic Four, The Defenders, and Secret Defenders.

The Ghost Rider has superhuman strengths, magical weapons, controls fire, including Hell Fire, and the ability to withstand attacks from normal weapons. He can also manipulate multiple dimensions as well go through any surface and travel through air. He carries with him an Enchanted Chain, the Penance Stare, and the Hellfire Shotgun while riding a Flaming Motorcycle.

The Ghost Rider Name changed throughout the years from Night Rider to Phantom Rider and finally to Ghost Rider. The Ghost Rider receives his powers after making a deal with Satan to save his friend and mentor, however, he does not completely loose his soul but gets bonded with Zarathos.

The final Ghost Rider Comics to feature Johnny Blaze as the Ghost Rider came out in Issue number 81 in 1983 when the spirit Zarathos left BlazeÂ’s body. Zarathos went on his own to persue Centurious, a nasty villain mentioned near the end of Johnny BlazeÂ’s appearance. Johnny rejoins the cast later on in the following Ghost Rider Comic Books.

In 1990 to 1998, the Ghost Rider Comic Book had Daniel Ketch as the new Ghost Rider, after an attack on his sister, and while looking for revenge he came across a Motorcycle containing the Spirit of Vengeance inside it.

The Spirit is revealed as a Puritan named Noble Kale, the ancestor of both Blaze and Ketch. To further twist the plot, the Ghost Rider Comic Book reveals that Blaze and Ketch are really brothers.

Johnny and Ketch, after a misunderstanding, became partners to help those in trouble and fight against evil. Later on, Blaze once again becomes the Ghost Rider as a deal with KaleÂ’s mother spares Kale and Zarathos invades Blaze instead.

Zarathos does not remember his past but each time Blaze releases the Ghost Rider Zarathos regains more control and his personality is stronger each time he is released. Ghost Rider was intended to be a villain against Daredevil but his character was too strong and demanded is own books instead.

In a flashback during the Ghost Rider Comics volume 2 series of 1990 to 1998, Kale was revealed to be the mother of Johnny, Ketch and Barbara. Naomi, to save her children and remove a curse, cast a spell intending that Johnny be the last of the Ghost Riders in her family, however, as all good curses go, it chose to skip Johnny and brought Barbara as the next member to inherit the Ghost Rider.

The Ghost Rider picks up another ally in the character of Vengeance who, together, destroy the villain Blackheart and rule over Hell while Ketch is away. This is further explained in Ghost Rider Comic Book series Ghost Rider 2099.

The Ghost Rider Comic Book, like many of the Marvel Comic Books, portrays the struggle between good and evil, right and wrong, and the balance of power.
