It has been said that if there was more art in the world there would be less violence. While it is a nice thought, there is actual proof that art helps prevent violence. Inner city studies that offer afterschool art programs have been shown to cultivate talent versus cultivating gang relationship and other destructive forces.
Involving the arts in your life, your family's life, and your children's life is like bringing in a whole new element of life. Whether it is art collection or art participation, art is personal and developmental for everyone from birth until death. Art therapies, art shows, and art sessions can spark an interest in creating one's own artistic impressions.
Art can be expensive, but well worth the cost. There are many different types of art and real work of art can often be worth more as an investment piece than commodities. Over time a single piece of art can appreciate in value. It can appreciate in monetary value as well as personal value.
Whether you are a serious art collector or you just happen to notice a painting on the street that you simply can't turn away from, art has enhanced human life for as long as there has been human life. It will continue to enhance our lives on deep, spiritual level for the rest of humanity.
